When I first began these editorials one year ago I told you of my commitment to make this A Better Region 8. In that time I have met a lot of folks who have taken the time to let me know when they agreed with me or when they thought that I was just flat out wrong. And I appreciate both sides sharing their opinions. I also appreciate the fact that there are a whole lot of folks in this area that are also committed to making this a better region in which to live, work and play. These people are symbolic of that “Good Neighbor” spirit that we try so hard to live up to here at KAIT. With that in mind we thought that it was high time that these folks be recognized for their efforts. So this year on August 8th, we are going to do just that. We are going to honor our Good Neighbors. And we need your help to recognize them. On our website are nomination forms, just click on the link at the top of the page and it will take you to the nomination forms. You will see that we have categories to honor educators, medical professionals, volunteers, first responders, agricultural leaders and corporate citizens. And last but not least, our Good Neighbor of the year. In addition we’re going to work with city administrations and chambers of commerce throughout Region 8 to honor the communities that are always working to be better too. We will highlight those communities throughout the month of July leading up to the big awards ceremony on August 8th. The deadline to nominate is June 18th. So please take a little time, log on, and nominate the folks that you believe make this A Better Region 8.
