Monday we will celebrate the unofficial start of Summer with Memorial Day. For a whole lot of us that means going to the lake, an out of town trip, Barbequeing with family or friends, or just a lazy three day weekend. While most of us will take a holiday, far too many of us will forget the sacrifices that were made to give us this day off. It is extremely important to remember that Memorial day was created to commemorate men and women who have fallen in military service to our country. If you're a parent making holiday plans I encourage you to think about the families who have members serving in the military. Pay them back by taking some time this Monday to explain to your youngsters the importance of the men and women who protect our freedoms.... including our ability to celebrate holidays. Too many men and women have made the ultimate sacrifice protecting the American way of life. Those who have died in service to our country deserve our respect. Let’s make this A Better Region 8 by doing a better job teaching the next generation about the importance of honoring our American heroes.
This may not get to you, but I have heard a lot of illegal dumping. I don't like it, but it is the governements fault. Help me with this. I have a half of a can of paint. The city will pick up the can, but only when empty. What do I do with the paint pour it on the ground? I have an old air conditioner. No one will haul it off unless the compressor is removed. This can only be accomplished by pumping down the unit. With a high cost from a heat/and air man. I have a refrigerator, mattress, and some other items that the city will not pick up. Be real, the city wants to pass the laws to outlaw dumping certain items without providing a way to legally get rid of this stuff. This is tyranny in the utmost. They cause the illegal dumping and then talk like they are above it all. Pass this along to whomever will listen, and then just maybe we can get rid of illegal dumping.
