The Big Switch is here for real this time. I believe that most folks here are ready for this but there is something you need to know and take action on if you receive our signal over the air.
As you recall, KAIT and other TV stations across the nation will be turning off analog signals on Friday, June 12th, 2009. We will turn off ours at 7am that morning. In addition, at that time, our digital signal will change channels from channel 9 back to channel 8 where our analog signal has been since 1963. That is when you will have to take action if you receive our signal over the air. After 7am on June 12th you will need to rescan your digital television or your digital converter box. Once the rescan is completed you will be able to receive KAIT once again. You should only have to perform the rescan once and you will be permanently set up to enjoy the digital TV world.
If you receive our signal via cable, you should not have to do anything and your reception of KAIT should not change. On our website you can visit the Big Switch section to learn more on the need to rescan on June 12. After years of planning and working toward this conversion, The Big Switch finally comes to a close and you know, that will make this A Better Region 8.
Larry,
Please send me your contact info and I will have someone get in touch with you regarding your reception issues. The email address is tingram@kait8.com

With all due respect,it is not a better region 8 if you can not get a signal.I have tv`s in my shop,on the fridge, places that you do not want to run a wire and rabbit ears gives a very good picture. Now all i get is a no signal, maybe a blip on a perfectly clear day.I thought we were moving wireless instead of hooking everything up to an outside antenna.[which i do not have anymore, thought they were obsolete 20 years ago]Thank You.
