Next week, September 22nd through 28th has been designated as Hope Week-a community wide, week-long series of events and activities designed to salute and highlight the spirit of Hope and its importance in the life of our community. Individuals, students, organizations and companies will be sowing seeds of Hope through projects to benefit others. They will be making cards and delivering them to nursing homes and patients; reading to classes; raising funds and collecting needed items for their favorite charity. Some will be creating awareness for ovarian and breast cancer, serving lunch to patients, or volunteering at a non-profit. The projects are as varied as the groups involved. The capstone of the week will be the ShareHope Walk of Remembrance and Hope on September 28th at Craighead Forest Park's Ft. Rotary. This event honors the memory of babies who died too soon and is a time to remember the children and offer hope to families who have suffered tremendous loss. It is another reminder that Hope may not alter the outcome of an experience, but it provides comfort for the journey. To be a part of Hope Week contact NEA Baptist Charitable Foundation's HopeCircle at 870-934-5214. Remember someone who gave hope to you and say thank you. Celebrate the gift of Hope and pass it on. Hope wears many faces, but it always brings a smile. A hope-filled community helps make this a better Region 8.
