One in 8. Could it be you? Could it be me? Could it be your mother, sister, wife or daughter? One in 8 women are diagnosed with breast cancer. The Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority at Arkansas State University has taken this statistic to heart and they are doing something about it. Under the leadership of Dr. Karen McDaniel, the members of ZTA are covering Region 8 in pink. Dr. Karen McDaniel said, "1 in 8 women are diagnosed with breast cancer. My aunt was a breast cancer survivor. We have some breast cancer survivors who are alums of our chapter so it's very important to get education out there to women. We're passing out shower cards tonight, self reminder stickers and brochures, we have information sheets we're passing out. We work all year long to raise awareness for Susan G. Komen and breast cancer" ZTA members are also selling t-shirts, eating yogurt and saving lids and they will have a benefit night at IHOP this Friday night - so go eat some pancakes. They've also produced a video that aired during the ASU football game Tuesday night. Dr. Karen McDaniel and the members of ZTA are raising money and awareness to fight breast cancer and making this A Better Region 8.
